The Ten Tors expedition is an event run by the Army. The objective is for teams of young people to complete a route across Dartmoor taking in ten of the moors granite Tors in only two days. There are three expeditions, the Bronze - 35 miles long, the Silver - 45 miles long and the Gold event - 55 miles.
The teams have to complete their route completely unsupported and carrying all the equipment they need, including food, tent-age, sleeping bags, cooking equipment, food, clothing and safety equipment!
Taking part in the Ten Tors expedition is not a trivial undertaking! To have any chance of completing the event, some serious training has to be undertaken by all those involved!
