Earlier this year the Sarum Network finally set about redecorating our hut, starting with painting! . The general idea behind the colours was Warmth. The specific reason behind the colours was Cost.
The plan was to create a new look for the room with some nicer curtains, drapes & cushions for the sofas & a better working area ready for 2007. Over the last year we have modified quite a bit already, removing old furniture, adding a whiteboard, lockable cupboards & several computers for use by us & the Explorers. We meet Mondays & the Wilton Explorer Scouts have the room on Wednesdays. See their website here. The den itself is part of the Wilton Scout Hut garage block & was first created as the Wilton Venture Scouts meeting room, which we took over when Ventures turned into Network in 2002-3. The wall which we are definitely not touching is the far one upon which our friend & ex-venture Ryan Hope painted a fabulous mural depicting many modern characters & designs. The mural has become synonymous with Wilton Ventures & now Network & is regularly marvelled at by all who enter the den.
