. History of the Sarum Network Page 1
The Salisbury Area Scout Network
was formed in 2002 from a core group of ex-Venture Scouts in the
area who had enjoyed a two week trip to Prague that summer. So, with
that firm base of friendship they set up the Network and as such
were some of the first to do so in the country. The Sarum Network
was also one of the first if not THE first unit in the region to
register its own name It was not long before the Salisbury Network began to grow in numbers. A few more old Venture Scouts returned to Scouting and our new section, but surprisingly and very happily the majority of new faces came from outside the Scout Movement. Now we could start doing things, and so in 2003 we ran our first trip away, SNEE, the Sarum Network Easter Expedition, hill walking in North Wales, which we have resurrected as our Easter Ski Trips.
