Sarum Network Christmas Meal

Saturday 8th Dec at the Sha Jahan

District Centenary Camp, 25-28 May

The Camp is for all Scouting Sections as part of our District's Centenary Celebrations

The venue is Dean Hill Park & the camp runs for Network from

Friday evening 25th May to Monday afternoon 4-5pm, 28th May & costs £10.

DIRECTIONS: Dean Hill Park is in East Dean. Follow the Southampton Road out of Salisbury & a few miles down the dual carriageway you will see signs to West Dean & Farley on the left. Follow these & carry on through the villages to the far end of East Dean where you will easily see the large signs & drive into Dean Hill Park. Then look for tents!

.

Many Network are attending the camp with the Scout Groups they help lead so will be catered for through those groups, but still need tents, cutlery, plates, mugs etc.

.

NETWORK CAMPING SEPARATELY WILL NEED TO BRING THEIR

OWN FOOD, DRINK, + COOKING, EATING & CAMPING EQUIPMENT

The sensible thing as Simon has tried to organise is to all camp together, sharing one set of cooking & camping equipment and buying food & drink in bulk. If you don't know where your food is coming from - it probably won't be coming from anywhere! Make sure you are catered for either by yourself or in a group BEFORE you turn up on site.

Notes about group camping:

Larger Camps are one of the best things about being involved in Scouting, whatever age you are, and although Network is not a service section, you as part of the District Network may be asked to help out with things during the camp, as a group or individually. All the other adults on site are there giving their time for free running the camp so that you and all the other sections can have the best time possible, but as we are over 18 it is not unreasonable to be expected to help out, fetching & carrying, supervising younger sections on activities & generally contributing to camp life - hey, it's actually what many of us enjoy most!

If you are coming to camp imagining it will simply be a bum-around drinking weekend then please do not turn up. It is not worth our whole network getting that sort of reputation just for a few members selfish, unhelpful or antisocial behaviour. That is not what Scouting is about. If you are there you join in.         JEF

YOU WILL NEED YOUR UNIFORM AT CAMP - Got everything??

If you don't have everything the Scout Shop is open at Dennis Marsh House from 5:30-7:30pm Mondays and 10am-12 Saturdays & should be able to supply everything you need to make your Network outfit complete.
