A BIT MORE INFORMATION .
DOWNLOAD THE LATEST NEWSLETTER HERE or CLICK HERE to view it online. . So, why Andorra? Well, good fun, good food & good friends! One of our Network's dad has been a ski instructor in Andorra for many years so our first trip was a small one on his invitation. Through him we also manage to get a lot of skiing necessities & even drinks at discounted rates! Once there we found the principality to hold many more benefits than previously anticipated, namely: .
Where the heck IS Andorra? Andorra is a very small principality in the beautiful eastern Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain. The closest airports are Gerona (Barcelona), Carca Sonne & Perpignon so there's always a good drive. We usually stay in the Soldeu & El Tarter area, right in the centre of the main skiing plateau. From there gondolas & ski lifts take you up into the mountains high enough to ski many miles to different villages & ski areas. We've been four times & haven't got to the furthest ends yet!
What do I say & how do I pay? The primary language of Andorra is Spanish, and French, German, Catalan & English. Most people speak one, two or all of these but the most frequently used is probably English, good for us. Currency is Euros & VAT does not exist!
Andorra is a most beautiful region and has a long and interesting history. Little villages, museums, restaurants, thermal springs, cheap beer, monasteries, and the exciting central town of Andorra La Vella are all at your disposal to explore, as well as the fantastic night life and friendly atmosphere. We'll have our own transport but there are also regular busses around the region so we highly recommend a little exploration! There are also plenty of activities on offer other than skiing, like paragliding, dog sleds, skating, climbing, skidoo riding, swimming, hiking, shopping, eating & even drinking! We are also organising set Days Out to various places of interest, such as cultural hot spots, natural sights, bigger towns & activity venues. A Programme of these will be available which you or your group can OPT IN to (that's the Network way now isn't it?!). Obviously you only pay for what you do so it's all your choice.
Who's going & where are we staying? Well that's kinda up to you at the moment! The Sarum Network from Salisbury in Wiltshire organise & run the trip, so we'll be there, plus a few leaders from Wiltshire but we expect more Network members & adults from around the UK on the 2008 trip. Numbers also determine to some extent where we stay, in that we can offer small numbers accommodation in apartments, but if we get enough then there may be the option to hire an entire hotel! But if you want you can have a tent...
Where can I get promotional material to help advertise the trip to my Network & Leaders? Right here on this website! Just check out the DOWNLOADS page.
