North East Wiltshire Scout Activity Centre

The Scout Activity Centre is situated on the outskits of the village of Burbage and is right on the edge of open Wiltshire countryside which is easily accessible by adjacent public footpaths. The building has a large hall for indoor activities with a small meeting room off the main hall. There are toilet facilities and a good sized kitchen with cooker, fridge etc. Although the facilities are old and rather basic they are clean and tidy and the site is served by Tesco's on-line delivery service, with a small local supermarket within walking distance.

Adjacent to the building there is a large field with ample room for camping and outdoor activities. The Centre makes an ideal stopover site for patrols completing the Explorer Challenge, Hikers Badge or those undertaking D of E expeditions.

The site is close to many tourist attractions such as: the Kennet and Avon Canal, the Crofton Beam Engines, Pewsey Swimming Pool, Tidworth Leisure Centre and Savernake Forest. The towns of Salisbury, Hungerford and Marlborough are close by and Stonehenge, Silbury Hill and Avebury Stone Circles are a minibus ride away. Savernake Forest and Collingbourne Woods nearby provide excellent opportunities for map, compass, GPS practice and hiking - or for just an enjoyable ramble.
