Two of our leaders were recently nominated for Community Awards, as part of the Tidworth Community Area Awards 2006. The awards were presented at the Chute Club by Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant for Wiltshire, Mr John Bush OBE.

We are very proud of all our scout leaders, they put in a tremendous amount of effort to look after the young people of Tidworth and the surrounding areas. A big thank you goes out to all of them.

The Citations read out on the night were as follows:

Julie Tranham

Julie joined the 1^st Tidworth Cub Scouts soon after moving to the area. At times the only full-time leader in the pack, she has helped run the Beavers too. She is committed to running the pack and providing the activities and fun. In 2006 she organised a weekend camp for the children and despite being taken ill and having to leave the camp, her organisation ensured the camp continued successfully and was enjoyed by all.

Sarah Simpson

Sarah is now the Beaver Colony Leader at 1^st Tidworth Scouts and organised a ‘clean up day'. In the ‘day job' she has acted as secretary for many meetings including the Kennet NPT Roll Out Steering Group and the CPCG. Her continued cheerfulness, support and interest in community activities has been an inspiration
