Climbing the Height of Mount Everest  is one of our key fund-raising events that we undertake every 2 years. The objective is for all Group members to gain sponsorship based upon the total height climbed. The goal being for the Group to collectively ascend Everest

This year, the event was supported by who kindly allowed us to erect a climbing frame in their Chippenham store.

The frame was constructed using our pioneering poles and was constructed from two A-Frames lashed together with horizontal supports (see images).

The Woolworths staff where very helpful in supporting us and providing us with an opportunity to gain both advertisment and prescence in the community. Stores collections was over £200 with sponsorship money expected to raise the total to over £1000.

With about 60 Group members participating (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts), the day was a success. The Scouts even challanged the Woolworths staff to a time-trial and won (twice).
